四合院“房”和“门”英译中的伦理价值再现

摘　　要：四合院是典型的礼制建筑,是伦理秩序与伦理和谐的统一体。四合院的"房"和"门"不仅指物,指方位,还暗含伦理价值。这是英译的难点。但借助中西文化之间共有的空间概念、文化相似点并运用图文注释等方法,"房"和"门"还是具有可译性。其方法是以空间方位等级再现伦理秩序,而以英译术语间的相关联性再现伦理的合谐。Beijing courtyard, a unity of ethical order as well as ethical harmony, is a typical ritual architecture. Recently,with more and more attention being paid to the siheyuan culture,the importance of its translations in the process of international cultural exchange has also been highlighted. Based on the translations of ＂room ＂ and ＂gate ＂ in Beijing courtyard,this paper aims to have a detailed study of the reappearance of quadrangle courtyard ＇s hidden ethical values by translated terms as well as to explore the translation idea in which ethical order can be expressed by the use of spacial hierarchy while ethical harmony can be reproduced through the correlations between these translated terms. By doing so,not only relevant references can be provided to the translation of architectural terms of Chinese traditional vernacular dwellings with cultural connotation,but also the siheyuan culture with distinctive Chinese characteristics can be more widely spread by means of translation.
