摘　　要：公共图书馆从诞生开始,为了满足社会民众对信息和知识文化的需要,就承担着特定的社会角色,在网络时代的社会,因为社会大众对信息、文化知识等需求有了较大的改变,所以,对公共图书馆的期望和要求也改变了很多。公共图书馆的社会角色的定位与角色担当也应随之变化。Since the birth of public library, in order to meet the needs of information and knowledge culture of the general public, the public library bears the particular social roles. In network era, because the social public demands of knowledge and cultural information have greatly changed, the ex- pectations and needs of public library have changed a lot too. The position and role of the public library is changing.
