摘　　要：对英语颜色词汇系统的构成进行分类、梳理,并着重对英语中的普通颜色词（即＂非基本颜色词＂）进行研究,首先将其划分成简单普通颜色词和复合颜色词两大类,进而立足于构词理据和构词方式两个不同角度分别对二者予以再分类。从词义上看,简单普通颜色词可以进一步划分为实物和抽象认知颜色词两小类,复合颜色词则可以分成三小类;从词形上看,复合颜色词可以分为附加式与复合式合成词两类。最后对英语中基本颜色词的语法性质与功能做出总结。In this paper,the common English color words can be divided into simple common color words and compound color words. Then emphatically focusing on the two aspects — motivation of word formation and Word formation of the compound color words,the two main categories are classified separately. When judging from lexical meaning perspective,there are two categories： the simple common color words can be divided into originated from the material forms and abstract cognition forms as well as the compound color words can be divided into three categories. When judging from the morphology angle,there are three forms belonged to compound color words： add-on forms and compound forms. Further more,the nature and function of the grammar of basic English color words are summarized in the end of this paper.
