摘　　要：随着经济的发展和社会的进步,社会生产和生活对高深知识的需求不断增长,西方大学走出传统"象牙塔",在接受社会经济资助的同时履行了一定的社会义务。大学与社会的联系日益密切,社会力量的介入,一定程度上削弱了大学自治的权力,破坏了学术自由的氛围,学术自由与大学在进行学术研究时承担的社会责任构成一对矛盾。现代大学应在坚持学术自由原则的前提下承担相应的社会责任,既服务社会又与社会保持一定的距离。With the development of economy and the progress of the society, social production and life growing demand for advanced knowledge. Out of the traditional ＂ivory tower＂, western universities fulfill the certain social obligations while accepting social economic aid. University and social contact is increasingly close, and the involvement of social forces, to some extent, weakens the power of university autonomy, destroys the atmosphere of academ- ic freedom, andacademic freedom and social responsibility that universities fulfill in the academic research constitute a pair of contradiction. The modern university should assume corresponding social responsibility on the premise of adhering to the principle of academic freedom, serve the society and keep a certain distance with society.
