摘　　要：由于ArcGIS软件自带的符号库若不能满足地图输出的要求,就需要符号库的专门制作,文中按照矢量化、精准化的设计要求,主要介绍了点状、线状、面状符号的制作方法与技巧,详细说明了各类符号均基于点符号首先在Font Creator字体编辑软件中完成设计并安装到操作系统,然后在ArcMap中分别完成制作的细节流程。通过在天水市二类资源调查林相图编制中的实践证明:该方法不但效果高,而且符号占用内存少,不随比例失真等优点,可以为类似工作提供很好的借鉴。A symbol database should be made particularly because the one of the ArcGIS can not meet the requirements of the map output. This paper mainly introduces the method and techniques of making point symbol, line symbols and surface symbols according to the design requirements of vectorization and precision. It also makes a detailed de- scription that the various types of symbols were all based on point symbols in Font Creator font editor software to com- plete the design and the installation of the operating system and then in ArcMap all the processing of those symbols is completed. Through the sub - forest management inventory of the forest map in Tianshui, it proves that not only this method is highly effective, but also the symbols occupy less memory and do not change with the ratio of distortion, which can provide a good reference for similar work.
