摘　　要：近代以前,回族族称并未见诸于公众。而当时的"回回"称呼仅是个泛称,多指信仰伊斯兰教的中国族群。随着回族中的学者对自身民族特性的研究,在为回族同其他信仰伊斯兰教的其他民族厘清了界限的同时,也促进了回族在宗教、教育上的相应改革。Since modern times,the group name of Hui nationality has not been acknowledged by the public. At that time,there was a general term ＂ Hui-Hui＂,which referred as the Islamic ethnic groups in China. The Hui-scholars pushed the study of its national characteristics,and clarified the boundaries between the Hui nationality and other clans of Islam,which meanwhile promoted the corresponding reform of Hui nationality group in the aspects of religion and education.
