摘　　要：台湾首任巡抚刘铭传将他的近代科技思想付诸于台湾近代化建设,他重视实业建设,重视人才培养和教育,重视商务发展,加速了台湾近代化建设的步伐。刘铭传具有近代意义的科技思想和实践中的有益经验,对当今社会经济发展有着重要的现实意义。As the first provincial governor of Taiwan, Liu Mingchuan puts his modem technological thought into the modem construction of Taiwan, he attaches importance to the industrial construction, education and commercial development, which accelerate the pace of modem construction of Taiwan. These modem technological thoughts and useful experiences of practice from Liu Mingchuan have an important practical significance for development of today＇ s society and economv.
