摘　　要：定县调查是我国历史上首次运用现代社会调查方法对一个县域社会进行的实地调查,在社会学史上具有里程碑式的地位。其社会学意义突出体现在:一是完整呈现了20世纪20、30年代华北乡村的社会事实;二是系统探索了适合本土实际的社会调查方法;三是有效推进了当时乡村建设的实践;四是为社会学的本土化做出了不可磨灭的贡献。The Ting Hsien Social Survey is a landmark in the history of Chinese Sociology, which is the first time in the history of using the modern social survey methods in the field of a county.Its sociological significance is reflected in the following four aspects： First of all, the survey data show the social facts of the North China village in 20s and 30s twentieth century. Secondly, the investigators have explored the methods of social investigation which are suitable for the local society, and have made innovations in the modern social survey methods. Thirdly, the survey promoted the practice of rural construction at that time effectively. The fourth, the survey made an indelible contribution to the localization of sociology.
