摘　　要：于战火硝烟中"弦歌不辍"的国立西南联合大学,深刻地把握了大学存续发展之根本,将坚毅民族精神与学术自由意志高度凝聚,建立起了"独立""自由"的卓越联大精神。精神丰碑之下以史为镜,联大精神已内存于中国大学的历史印记中,并熔铸于学者探究真理的学术品格与学术风骨之中,成为我国建设世界一流大学的理念根基与精神支撑:高深学问与真理探究需要自由的学术生态保障,建设中国特色世界一流大学,应秉承"独立""自由"精神之志,不仅要涵养人格独立之大师,彰显学术自由之大爱,更要承继精神丰碑,熔铸大学学术精神家园,形成涵养和孕育大师、英才的良善氛围。瞻仰历经沧桑而为历史所沉淀下来的精神丰碑,我们有信心于世界一流大学之梦的达成,以涵养、造就出更多为国家民族乃至全人类作出思想和知识贡献的富有创造力的杰出人才。In the smoke of the war, National Southwest Associated University(NSAU)never gave up, but overcame difficulties and persisted in education, and finally trained a large number of Chinese and foreign elites and the pillars of the nation-state under the difficult conditions. Its position in the history of China's higher education is still at the height of the peak of the world-class university. The reasons for the success of NSAU is that it established remarkable 'independent' and 'freedom' spirits of NSAU which deeply grasped the foundation of the development and subsistence of the university in the interaction of Chinese nation's fine tradition of patriotism and the advanced western ideas. For the purposes of the University, 'independent' represents the character and personality independence while 'freedom' is the freedom of thought and academics. Recalling the glory days and the soul of the NSAU's 'independent' and 'freedom' spirits under the spiritual monument, the NSAU's spirits had been in the history of the universities of China, which took the history as a mirror, and modeled characters and academic characters of exploring the truth in the scholars' academics. The NSAU's 'independent' and 'freedom' spirits became the idea foundation and spirit support of the construction of the world first-class university in our country. Constructing world first-class universities with Chinese characteristics, we are supposed to inherit the 'independent' and 'freedom' spirits. First of all, we should conserve independent personality of the master, and encourage them to explore, think and judge independently, and keep the academic integrity to complete independence in this world rather than attach to all people and things in the spirit. Secondly, we should highlight the love embodied in academic freedom and foster a free and tolerant academic environment for scholars.
