摘　　要：本文对现代西方两大重要的语言学流派——美国结构主义学派与伦敦语言学派产生、代表人物和主要思想等进行了分析和阐述。通过对两大流派进行对比分析,了解该学派的代表人物、产生和发展的渊源、主要思想等。使读者对语言学的产生发展的历程有更深入的见解。This paper compares two major modern western linguistic schools-American structuralisms and London school, so to illustrate the representatives, the generation, the development, and the main ideas of each school. With the comparison and contrast of the two major schools, this thesis aims to let the readers have a deeper understanding of the development of linguistics.
