摘　　要：当前高校英语口语教学重视程度不足,教学和测试均存在诸多问题。而IELTS考试在世界范围内享有很高的声誉,其口语测试对中国高校口语教学可以提供很多有价值的启示:话题内容、答题思路、文化意识、评分标准。研究结果对我国高校口语教学改革具有重要的借鉴意义。Nowadays, oral English teaching is not paid much attention in higher education and quite a few problems in teaching and testing of English speaking ability. While IETLS test is gaining a really high reputation in the world, and the speaking testing part of IELTS can inspire much about the current oral English teaching in tertiary education, including testing topics, answering frames, cultural consciousness, and assessment criteria. The research result is of great referential value for the reform of oral English teaching in higher education.
