张謇的慈善事业及其当代价值

摘　　要：张謇为我国近现代慈善事业发展做出了重要贡献。其慈善事业不仅在规模和数量上相当可观,且持续时间较长,主要经历了初步发展、全面鼎盛及晚年坚持等阶段。在筹办慈善事业的过程中,张謇不仅坚持以慈善践行爱国爱民、扶危济困,而且还立足本土、注重慈善的改造功用。为能筹资办慈善,他采取了多种途径积极筹资。张謇的慈善事业改善了民生,提升了社会文明程度,助推了南通早期现代化。其留给我们的许多可贵慈善人文精神,无疑需要我们加以进一步传承。Zhang Jian made important contribution to the development of China＇s modern philanthropy. His philanthropy was not only considerable in size and quantity, but the duration was longer. It experienced the initial development,the overall prosperity and the late years of insistence and so on. In the process of organized philanthropy, Zhang Jian not only adhered to the practice of charity patriotic and distressed the poor, but also paid attention to his town folks and focused on the transformation function of charity. In order to raise charitable funds, he took a variety of ways. His philanthropy has improved people＇s livelihood, promoted the degree of social civilization, and helped boost the Earlier modernization of Nantong. His philanthropy left us many valuable charitable humane spirits.
