摘　　要：印度作为主要地区大国的崛起将深刻地影响其在印度洋发挥的作用。但是,印度在该地区有何雄心呢?本文探讨了印度的印度洋战略思维的不同流派及其对印度的战略行为的可能影响。印度将成为排他性的强权还是在这一高度多元化的地区扮演温和大度的领导者?本文认为,印度领导人期望印度最终成为印度洋的主导力量,但其实际含意为何,抑或如何得以实现,目前尚无定论。The rise of India as a major regional power will have considerable implications for its role in the Indian Ocean. But what are India's ambitions in the region This article examines different streams of Indian strategic thinking about the Indian Ocean and how they will likely contribute to strategic behavior. Will India become an imperial power to the exclusion of others or will it show benign leadership to a highly diverseregion The article argues that Indian leaders expect that India will eventually become the leading power in the Indian Ocean,but there is little agreement as to what this actually means or how it will be achieved.
