语言哲学视野下的负性原则:索绪尔语言理论探要

摘　　要：本文以《普通语言学教程》和《普通语言学手稿》为基础文本,以语言哲学为视角,考察索绪尔语言理论中的负性概念。研究发现,在普通语言学理论层面,负性概念被作为一种方法和正性、对立、差异等概念一起用于定义和描写语言符号系统的构成要素;在语言哲学层面,负性概念被作为语言系统结构的基础原则,制约着符号系统构成要素在各层面上的组织和运作方式。负性原则作为制约语言系统底层结构的基础原则反映了索绪尔在立论之初对语言系统的本质和语言科学学科属性的深刻把握和洞见。Based on Course in General Linguistics and Writings in General Linguistics, this paper attempts to examine the concept of negativity in Saussure＇ s theory of general linguistics. From the perspective of philosophy of language, the study finds that at the level of general linguistics, negativity is employed with such concepts as positivity, opposition and difference by Saussure as a method for defining and describing elements of the language system, while at the philosophical level it is regarded as a fundamental principle working at the basic structure of the language system and governing the organization of the elements at different levels of the system. The negative principle proposed by Saussure indicates his understanding of and insight into the nature of language as well as the nature of linguistics as a science at the outset of his linguistic theorization.
