摘　　要：本文是玄奘图像考察的开篇,主要讨论玄奘图像之诞生和中国早期玄奘图像及相关人文历史背景等问题。This paper is the first of a series of iconographic studies on the mythologized Tang Dynasty Buddhist monk Xuanzang. This first installment mainly discusses the origin of images of Xuanzang, the early depictions, and relevant cultural and historical background.
