摘 要:近年来,从Halliday的社会符号学出发,将语言的社会符号特性扩展到视觉、听觉、动作、触感等模态作为交际手段的研究不断增多,其成果也不断应用于词典编纂中。因此,选择最恰当的社会符号(模态)进行释义,从而达到交际目的,做到用户友善,是词典研编者理应重视的问题。自2010年以来,国内外学者陆续提出了"多模态词典学""多模态学习词典"等概念,但其研究从严格意义上说应该是一种"双模态"研究,仅涉及纸质学习词典视觉模态中的图、文关系,极少关注其他模态和语言符号间的配置。文章以社会符号学框架下的多模态理论为基础,以学习型词典中的五大家族"Big5"的纸质及新型电子词典为蓝本,对现代学习型词典发展过程中的"多模态化"展开讨论,探究该类词典的符际模态配置模式,以期为词典学研究提供全新视角。In recent years,using Halliday 's social semiotics theory,many researches have expanded the social semiotic characteristics of language to visual,auditory,action,tactile and other multimodal communications through image,video and sound,and the findings have been applied to dictionary compilation. Therefore, it is important for lexicographers to choose appropriate social semiotic modes for lexical definition and exemplification,so as to achieve the purpose of social communication and user-friendliness. Although the concepts of 'multimodal lexicography'and 'multimodal learner's dictionary'have been put forward since 2010,most researchers have focused on the relation between illustrations and verbal communication alone,paying little attention to the relation between verbal communication and other modes. Based on the social semiotics theory and the theory of multimodal discourse analysis and taking examples from the electronic versions of the Big Five,this paper studies the procedure of multimodalization in the making of modern learner's dictionaries and the configuration of different modes,aiming at providing a new perspective to lexicographical research.
