摘　　要：帕特·巴克尔的小说《另一个世界》围绕历史的"凝结"之处展开,小说中个体的人生和家族的生活都因为"凝结"之处的存在而为创伤所主宰,而无论是个人创伤还是家族创伤,在巴克尔的笔下其实都是历史的表征。如果说乔迪创伤记忆的重返表现了创伤的历史性,乔迪作为受创伤的主体携带着难以解决的历史,那么突现的壁画和纠缠的鬼魂则象征了历史的创伤性,是充满了暴力循环的历史的体现,它们共同构成了巴克尔阐释创伤历史的策略。与此同时,通过展现创伤历史的多重策略,巴克尔也建构了独特的历史观,并且表达了对于人类未来的忧虑。Pat Barker's novel Another World centers on the historical coagulations that cause trauma for both individuals and families. Through the unfolding of traumatic events Barker expresses her reflections on history. On the other hand,the images in murals and the haunting ghosts show the traumatic nature of history. Barker's conception of history in the novel is distinctive,indicating that time and history may both diverge from the linear development and coagulate around terrible atrocities.
