摘　　要：如何改变精英教育的发展方式，创新高等教育发展模式，以适应我国经济社会发展的需求，这是当前高等教育改革发展的重要课题。独立学院作为中国新兴的一种高等教育模式，其产生与发展在我国普通高等教育的发展史上具有划时代的里程碑意义。本文对独立学院十五年以来的发展历程进行全面回顾，就其对普通高等教育发展的重要意义与推动和创新途径加以系统论述，旨在为新形势下独立学院的发展提供新的展望与途径。In order to adapt to the development and need of the economy and society, it is a great challenge to change the development model of elite educationto enrich the higher education systems.As an emerging model of higher education in China, inde- pendent colleges contribute a lot to the development of Chinese higher education and become a milestone in the history of the devel- opment of Chinese higher education.This article is intended to make a comprehensive review ofthe 15 years development process ofthe independent colleges, and analyze their importance to the development of higher education. Meanwhile, how to enhancethe indepen- dent colleges＇development path and bring forth some new ideas is also be discussed. Then, we draw some conclusions and prospects.
