Objective: To observe whether electroacupuncture stimulates the motor area of scalp acupuncture of cerebral palsy rats would promote the recovery of neurological function by regulating PI3K/Akt/GSK3β signaling pathway. Methods: Hypoxic ischemia cerebral palsy rat models were established, the rats were divided into control group, model group, treatment 1, 2, 3 group. Expression of p-PDK1, Akt, p-Akt, GSK-3β, p-GSK-3β(ser9) and MCL-1 were determined by Western Blot, and comprehensive evaluation were made based on neurobehavioral. Results: Compared with the model group, the motor functionscore in the treatment 1 group and the treatment 3 group were higher at different time points, the apoptosis of hippocampus neurons were decreased, the expression of p-Akt, p-PDK1, p-3β(ser9) and MCL-1 were increased. There was no significant difference between treatment 2 group and model group. Conclusion: Electroacupuncture stimulates the motor area of scalp acupuncture through the PI3K/Akt/GSK3β signaling pathway can reduce brain damage and promote recovery of neurological function in cerebral palsy rats.
