The paper is aimed to evaluate the SF-36 scale reliability and validity in measuring the health of journal editors in China,to select the appropriate tool for measuring the health of the population and editing comparison between healthy people and provide scientific basis. A cluster sampling method was randomly drawn nationwide 200 editorial departments 1 200 editorial staff for testing. Results showed the SF-36 Cronbach's α coefficient was0.905,physiological and psychological subscale total Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.018 46,0.888. Eeight dimensions Cronbach's α coefficient were more than 0.77. Two and a half scale Spearman-Brown split-half reliability was 0.768. In the validity analysis, each dimension of sub-sub-scale score correlation coefficients were larger. Eight factors were selected from factor analysis and the cumulative contribution rate was 66.38%; Each rotation of factors were significantly correlated to the design structure of the scale. The SF-36 scale has a good reliability and validity, and it is a reliable and valid measurement scale for the evaluation of health-related quality of life in journal editors of China.
