摘　　要：西路军是根据共产国际的指示和中共中央及军委的命令组成的,其任务是"在河西建立根据地,直接打通远方(苏联)",与张国焘路线有原则区别,在政治上、组织上主要都是奉令行事。但在"红军主力"及"战略后方"放在黄河以东还是黄河以西问题上,西路军主要领导者未能克服张国焘路线的影响,导致了重返倪家营子等严重错误,使西路军最终走上了不归路。文献再次证明,有意让西路军失败论是完全站不住脚的。西路军失败是历史合力造成的。西路军失败受到张国焘路线的影响,"没有克服张国焘路线"是西路军失败的原因之一,但并不是西路军失败的"主要"和全部原因。The West-Road Army was formed according to the instruction of the Comintern and the command of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission. Its mission was ＂to establish a base area in the region west of the Yellow River,and to break through to the USSR（ Union of Soviet Socialist Republics） ＂. It was different from the Zhang Guotao line in that both politically and organizationally the West-Road Army was doing what it was commanded to do. However,when it came to such issues as whether ＂the main forces of the Red Army ＂ and ＂strategic rear ＂ should be stationed to the east or the west of the Yellow River,the main leaders of the West-Road Army failed to break away from the effects of the Zhang Guotao line. This led to the serious mistake in returning to the village of Nijiayingzi and finally to a terrible failure of the West-Road Army. Relevant literature proves that the statement is utterly untenable that the failure of the West-Road Army was an intentional event. It was caused by resultant forces of history. The impact of the Zhang Guotao line was one of the factors contributing to the failure,but it was by no means ＂the leading or the only one ＂.
