摘　　要：欧亨利是美国二十世纪最知名的短篇小说家。他的创作风格备受读者青睐,其短篇小说的情节曲折多变,作品结尾往往出人意料却又在情理之中,享有"欧亨利式结尾"的美誉。本文从现实生活与小说的商业化创作、小说对现实社会的隐蔽性批判等方面分析了欧亨利短篇小说的艺术特征及其现实意义。O. Henry is the most famous short story writer in the United States in the 20 th century. Readers are fond of his creative style very much. The plots of his stories are variable,the details are intricate and the endings are often surprising,but reasonable. The endings of his novels enjoy a reputation of ＂ O. Henry＇s Ending. ＂ This article analyzes the artistic features of the short stories of O. Henry and its practical significance in the aspects of the realistic life,the novels＇ commercialization creation and novels＇ criticism of the realistic society.
