摘　　要：评估作为国家重点实验室管理的重要环节,在引导实验室定位和发展方向、促进实验室建设与运行等方面发挥了重要作用,并为国家相关管理部门决策提供了科学依据。对国家重点实验室的评估制度发展历程、组织协调、评估指标体系及评估程序等进行了回顾。对机械类国家重点实验室的历次评估情况和评估结果进行了系统的总结与分析。As one of the important links of the state key laboratory（SKL） management, evaluation played an important role in the guidance of the orientation and developing directions, and the construction and operation of the SKLs. It also provided a scientific basis for the strategic decision of relevant national management departments. The development history of the SKL evaluation system, organization and coordination, index system and procedure of the evaluation were reviewed herein. Situations and results of all previous evaluations of the SKL in the field of mechanical engineering were systematically summarized and analyzed.
