摘　　要：国家"十三五"规划将主体功能区建设提高到国土空间开发保护基础制度的高度。在国家战略需求的带动下,现代地域功能理论及应用研究成果日益增多。通过对近10多年来的现代地域功能理论方法探索和应用实践工作取得重要进展的梳理,发现目前研究主要集中在地域功能与区域发展均衡模型、资源环境承载力及其地域分异规律、地域功能识别与功能区划技术方法、地域功能格局变动机制与区域政策4个领域。相对于发达国家成熟的区域治理体系,以及完善地域功能理论体系的研究需求,目前现代地域功能理论在基础研究、综合地理区划实践以及区域治理体系建设方面还存在着薄弱环节。围绕完善理论体系建设和服务国家战略需求,未来研究应着力在5个方面取得突破性进展:地域功能生长发育驱动机制的集成分析、地域功能的空间结构与时空过程规律研究、区域发展空间均衡模型的进一步推导、地域功能空间尺度转换与综合地理区划、空间规划与现代区域治理体系构建。Major Function-Oriented Zone Planning （MFOZ Planning） is raised to a higher level position of fundamental institution function in land development and protection system in the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Economy and Social Development. At the same time, a large body of literature has recently appeared that examines the basic theory of regional function and its application methods. This paper reviews the recent 10 years＇ study of new regional function theory and its practice, and finds that the current research is mainly centered on 4 aspects, i.e. regional function and regional development equilibrium model, resources and environment carrying capacity and its regional variation, the identification and zoning methodology, the evolution mechanisms and regional policy. Compared with the regional governance system of developed countries, as well as the demand of MFOZ Planning, there are some gaps in new regional function theory study, such as the basic theory exploration, integrated geographical regionalization practice and regional governance system construction. Future research should focus on the five aspects： integrated analysis of driving mechanism of functional region development, spatial structure of regional function and its spatial-temporal process, further development of spatial equilibrium model, scale transformation and integrated geographical division, space planning and construction of modern regional governance system.
