摘　　要：列奥·施特劳斯的自由教育是唤醒人类灵魂的优秀与卓越,其最显著的特点即是以阅读伟大心灵的著作方式走向自由教育。在研习名著的过程中,施特劳斯主张经验丰富的学生引导经验欠缺的学生,帮助其提高思辨能力,得以体验美好事物。自由教育的真谛对我国当代高等教育有着重要启示:重视师资队伍建设,传承古典文化的教育责任,以阅读经典名著为主的教学方式体验快乐学习。liberal Education of Leo Strauss is to awaken the human soul to be excellence. It shows that the way to Liberal Education is to read the Classics. In the process of studying classics, Strauss advocated the experienced students to help the less experienced students in order to improve their critical thinking skills, to experience the good things. The essence of Liberal Education has an important revelation of con-temporary higher education ： emphasis on teaching staff, the responsibility to carry forward the classical cul-tural ,to read the Classics and experience the joy of learning.
