Objective To investigate the feasibility of the scan protocol using low-tube-voltage and low concentration iodinated media in 320-slice CT coronary angiography. Method 40 patients with suspected or known coronary heart disease who underwent coronary CTA( CCTA) with a 320-MDCT scanner were divided into two groups randomly.Images were scored subjectively and objectively, and radiation dose and iodine intake were compared. Results The effective dose( ED) and iodine intake exhibited significant differences between the two groups( P〈0.05),and the values in group B were less than those in group A.The ED in group B was reduced by72.95%,compared with that in group A. Accordingly, the amount of iodine in group B was reduced by 18.29%.Statistically significant differences in image noise and CT values of LCR were found between group A and B( P〈0.05); in addition, image noise in group B were higher than that in group A.However, the SNR,CNR and image quality scores were comparable to both groups. Conclusion It's not only maintaining the image quality but also effectively reducing the amount of radiation dose and iodine intake to use "dual low " scanning protocol in coronary angiography with 320-row CT.
