摘　　要：凯瑟的"草原三部曲"以美国西部的边疆为背景,在这三部作品中,凯瑟向我们展示了移民们乐观豁达的性格和坚韧不屈的精神。欧洲移民们怀着对未来的憧憬和对故土的思念,在荒原上开垦土地,建立美好家园。同时,他们也把本民族的文化习俗在新大陆上一代代地传承下去。Cather＇s ＂Prairie Trilogy＂ were set in American west- ern frontier, her novel were greatly influenced by the European traditional culture. In her three novels, Cather depicted some op- timistic and unyielding immigrants. While looking into the future and missing hometown, European immigrants tamed the land and build homes in the wildness. At the same time, they handed down their national culture from generation to generation in the new world.
