The immobilized microorganism was used to treat the secondary reverse osmosis concentrate (SROC) which were from the indirect coal-to-oil. The COD removal effect of SROC was studied. The result showed that the COD of the SROC dropped to 38.4 mg/L from 86.1 mg/L after reaction of 72 h, under pH 6.98, 35 ℃ condition, the agent dosage mass fraction of immobilized salt tolerant compound bacteria was 5%, and the removal rate of COD was 55.40%. Then the result from comparison experiment in contrast with using activated sludge, immobilized salt tolerant compound bacteria and their combined process showed that the removal rate of COD were 41.81%, 54.59% and 55.63%, respectively. The immobilized microorganism can strengthen the treatment effect of activated sludge process due to the good synergistic effects between them. The immobilized microorganism is an effective advanced treatment technology for the high salt-contenting SROC.
