《汕头话读本》与19世纪末潮州方言的语音系统

摘　　要：林雄成的《汕头话读本》(A Handbook of the Swatow Vernacular)出版于1886年,实际上是一部记录19世纪下半叶潮州方言自然口语的课本,语料翔实。本文以《汕头话读本》为基本依据,利用Excel的查寻和排序功能,以同音字汇的形式排列全书出现的所有单字的读音,以此归纳一百多年前潮州方言的语音系统,并与当代潮州方言进行简要的比较,透视百多年来潮州方言的语音演变。A Handbook of the Swatow Vernacular by LIM Hiongseng, published in 1886, is a detailed textbook recording the vernacular of Chaozhou dialect in the late 19th century. This paper lists the homophony syllabary of the dialect in this handbook through the search and sort function of software Microsoft EXCEL, describes the phonology system, compares with that of modern Chaozhou dialect and demonstrates the phonetic evolution during the past over 100 years.
