摘　　要：早期汉语在西方的传播与西方对汉语特征的解读是需要多学科参与的学术领域,基于中国文化传播的大背景,同时也由于汉语传播是文化传播的先导,研究不仅可以提供早期汉语传播经验的历史借鉴,也可以烛照后来汉语传播之历史得失。因此,汉学中的英文期刊不仅是向西方传播中国知识、建构"中国形象"的主要途径,更是西方社会公众了解中国社会方方面面知识的核心载体,其中,不仅汉语的认知与知识建构符合语言学的本质特征和规律,汉语域外传播与研究也存在着国别化差异与语境化差异,这对国际汉语教育史的研究而言,更具独特价值。The spread of Chinese Language in the early westerns and the interpretation of Chinese Lan- guage features among 17-19 century both are multidisciplinary fields , which based on the background of the dissemination of Chinese culture .Due to the spread of the Chinese language , this research not only can provide the experience to the history of the early dissemination of Chinese Language and culture , but also illuminate the gains and losses in the process of the spread of Chinese .Therefore, these early rare English periodicals are not only the main way of the construction of the knowledge of Chinese Language in West Sinology , but also the core carrier of public understanding of all aspects of Chinese society in west- ern countries. Meanwhile, the study of the country-specific differences and contextual differences has u- nique value in the terms of the history of the Chinese language education research.
