Objective To observe the clinical effect of herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel for sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease(SPID) and to provide the scientific basis for herb-partitioned moxibustion. Methods 30 SPID patients were divided into a treatment group and a control group randomly, separately treated with herbpartitioned moxibustion on the navel and flour-partitioned moxibustion on the navel. Comparing and analysing the physical signs of two groups before and after treatment, statistical significance was further explored. Results After treatment, the total scores of physical signs, and the scores of limited uterine activity or tenderness and the tenderness of left adnexa compared with former were significantly different(P〈0.05). Comparing the two groups after treatment, the difference of total scores of physical signs, the scores of uterine tenderness and physical dimension were statistically significant(P〈0.05).Conclusion The herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel is effective in improving the local physical signs. The herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel for SPID patients is better than flourpartitioned moxibustion on the navel in improving the whole local physical signs and uterine tenderness.
