从人际元功能角度谈话语风格上的性别差异

摘　　要：文章从功能语法中的人际功能角度出发,通过分析美剧《六人行》中人物的台词来探讨话语风格层面上的性别差异。研究发现女性比男性在表达人际功能时所用的语气更加礼貌,更倾向于使用疑问语气以及附加疑问句、情态词以及模糊限制语等手段来"软化"语言使之表达更委婉,此现象反映出女性在表达人际意义时相对于男性更加不自信,这种性别差异能够折射出社会中的两性地位差异。By analyzing the language used in the American humorous series Friends, this article intends to explore gender differences in speech manner from the perspective of interpersonal metafunction. The research finds out that females tend to be more polite than man in expressing the interpersonal metafunetion by preferring to use interrogative mood, tag questions, modal verbs and speech hedges, which facilitate to soften the language they utter in order to make the speech more euphemistical. The result shows that women are more diffident than men in undertaking language to express the interpersonal metafunetion to establish and maintain their relationship with others ,which may mirror the different social statuses the two genders enjoyed.
