摘　　要：David Blank,a visiting professor at the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography(XIEG)of CAS,was awarded the Friendship Award by the Chinese Government in September 2016 for'promoting the institute's research ability in desert ecosystem and wildlife management in the arid areas of Central Asia',and for'promoting scientific cooperation between ChinaDavid Blank, a visiting professor at the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography （XIEG） of CAS, was awarded the Friendship Award by the Chinese Government in September 2016 for ＂promoting the institute＇s research ability in desert ecosystem and wildlife management in the arid areas of Central Asia＂, and for ＂promoting scientific cooperation between China and Central Asia countries＂.
