论“民族复兴”话语下20世纪30年代的读书运动

摘　　要：20世纪30年代兴起过一场读书运动。读书运动时常有之,而20世纪30年代兴起的这场读书运动,是在"民族复兴"的话语下兴起的。发起这场读书运动的是成立于1934年的中国文化建设协会,这是一个具有浓厚官方背景的文化团体,其主要负责人陈立夫、吴铁城都是国民党的党政要员。因此,为配合以蒋介石为代表的国民党人对社会舆论的引导和控制,中国文化建设协会也积极投入到了民族复兴的宣传之中,认为要实现民族复兴,必先实现文化复兴,从事文化建设,文化建设的重要内容之一,便是提高国民的知识和文化的水平,而读书则是提高国民知识和文化水平的重要途径。于是他们打着民族复兴的旗号,发起了读书运动。然而读书运动避开了"独立"与"民主"这"两件"对实现民族复兴最为关键的"东西",没有关注抗日救亡的时代主题,关注人民对民主和自由权利的要求,得不到广大青年尤其是充满热血的大学生们的认同和支持,最后只能草草收场而已。The 1930s witnessed a classics reading movement. Although reading movements were common in that era, it was in the context of the national rejuvenation that the classics reading movement of the 1930s took place. This movement was initiated by the Chinese Cultural Development Association, a government-backed society founded in 1934 in the charge of some KMT party officials such as Chen Lifu and Wu Tieeheng. Thus, in order to collaborate with the controlling activities of social public opinions which was led by Chiang Kai-shek （ head of the Nationalist government）, the Chinese Cultural Development Association participated actively in the publicity of national rejuvenation. They advocated that since cultural rejuvenation was the prerequisite of national rejuvenation, so the classics reading movement was the most important way to improve people＇ s literacy level in cultural development. In such a context, they launched the classics reading movement in the name of national rejuvenation. However, the essential theme of national rejuvenation, namely, independence and democracy was neglected. Thus the movement ended hastily without getting support or recognition from the ardent and enthusiastic youth because it failed to consider the era theme of anti-Japanese national salvation or people＇ s demands for democracy and rights of freedom.
