摘　　要：本文论述总结著名语言学家刘叔新先生在现代汉语诸研究领域中的主要贡献和成果。在语言研究中,刘先生一以贯之地坚持科学的理论指导原则:语言和言语区分、共时与历时有别、形式与意义并重的原则等。从词汇的构成单位入手建立起完整而系统的现代汉语词汇学理论。语法研究方面,挖掘并揭示出汉语的一些富有特点的语法范畴。语义学方面也颇有建树。This paper describes the academic achievement of a well-known linguist, Professor Liu Shux- in, in the field of modern Chinese Linguistics. In linguistic studies, Professor Liu upheld theoretical and scientific principles. These principles emphasize the difference between language and speech, diachronic and synchronic views, and the equal treatment of forms and meanings. He constructed a comprehensive and systematic theory of modern Chinese lexicology with the new perspective of formation of lexicons. With regard to the research of Chinese grammar, he unveiled some unique grammatical categories in mod- ern Chinese. He also made great contributions in semantics.
