摘　　要：威廉·福克纳在《押沙龙,押沙龙!》中,尽情描摹丑陋社会里的丑陋人性,其死亡主题与女性哥特人物的塑造,再现了美国旧南方父性文化的怪诞与恐怖。作品由此营造出以"死亡"和"恐怖"为核心的伯克式崇高美学效应,表现出作家对不合理的社会秩序强烈的批评与救赎意识。In Absalom, Absalom !, William Faulkner vividly depicts the ugliness of human nature reflected in the ugly society. With its theme of death and characterization of the Gothic female, the work represents the grotesqueness and terror of the patriarchal culture of old American South. An aesthetic effect of Burkean sublimity, which centers on death and terror, is thus created. This unique effect, meanwhile, reveals the writer＇ s bitter attack of the injustice of such a society as well as his intention to save it.
