Objective To understand the failing rate in secondary screening of infantile hearing in the infants failing in primary screening, analyze the high-risk factors. Methods A total of 1 107 infants failing in primary screening of infantile hearing in the institution from July 2014 to December 2015 were selected, then secondary screening of infantile hearing was performed,a self-designed questionnaire was used to survey birth and family situations among the parents. Results The failing rate in secondary screening of infantile hearing in the infants failing in primary screening was 32. 3%,the failing rate of both ears was 17. 4%,the failing rates of left ears and right ears were 9. 1%and 5. 8%,respectively. Multivariate logistic analysis showed that the risk factors of failing rate in secondary screening of infantile hearing included more than two months, birth defects, failing of both ears in hearing screening. Conclusion More attention should be paid to the infants more than two months, with birth defects, failing of both ears in hearing screening when conducting secondary screening of infantile hearing in the infants failing in primary screening to avoid missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis.
