美国南方宗教文化对福克纳创作的影响

摘　　要：福克纳的成长过程受到基督教传统和文化的深刻影响,他坚信宗教信仰对于人类是必需的,因为宗教信仰能够为人类提供强大的精神支持,能够战胜所有的阻碍和困苦,能够克服人性内部缺点的诱惑以及邪恶的外部影响,能够净化、改善和升华人类灵魂的精神和道德状态。在这个意义上,把福克纳置身于当时的美国南方社会环境中,彻底和深刻地理解在当时社会环境下宗教文化对其创作的影响,能让读者更全面地了解福克纳及其作品。Faulkner＇s growth process is deeply influenced by the tradition and culture of Christianity. He firmly believed that religion was necessary for humans. Because religious belief can provide powerful spiritual support for humans to overcome obstacles,hardships, internal shortcoming and external evil, to purify and improve the soul of human. In this sense,making Faulkner stay at his social environment of the South American society which can thoroughly understand the influence of religious culture on the social environment. Thus readers can fully understand Faulkner and his works.
