摘 要:通过梳理并分析NTM的存在形式以及传统处理手段,阐述对NTM的信息处理的现状。借助权威机构的统计资料,揭示了现有国内外机构知识库建设在NTM处理能力上的欠缺与不足。然后通过剖析几种典型IR软件的NTM处理功能,描述IR软件在此功能上的技术核心。旨在从"NTM处理能力"角度,观察评价机构知识库及IR软件的性能优缺点,引起相关人员的重视,从而提高在建设机构知识库时的决策科学性、功能前瞻性及系统服务水准。Non-Textual Materials (NTM) is an important form of digital resources construction. With the development of technologies, NTM is developing rapidly. This requires Institutional Repositories (IR) to improve performance in processing and storage for NTM. This article explains what NTM processing is by analyzing data representation and traditional processing method. Through the reality of NTM construction projects, it displays that NTM storage technology is highly valued by other countries. Analyzing the data from international authoritative institutions, it reveals the deficiencies in IR NTM processing function around the world. The analysis on NTM processing function of some typical IR software reveals the core technology and performance of IR software. The purpose of the article is to bring high attention to NTM processing function in IR building work, by offering observations and estimates of IR and IR software from the perspective in this function. Therefore it can make developments on scientific value of decision-making, prospective function on the product and the level of system service.
