从《儒林外史》看中国传统士子的人生百相

摘　　要：《儒林外史》是吴敬梓这位一生为科举奔忙、深受其害的知识分子晚年写出的呕心沥血之作。小说的描写处处显现对封建科举制度的深刻反思,更给予了封建传统士子深刻的同情与不留情面的批判。以《儒林外史》为样本,可以管窥整个封建时代传统士子的人生命运。通过形形色色的人物形象,深刻剖析了知识分子的劣根性,进而总结人物的人生历程,探求造成这些人生悲剧的原因,从而形成对中国传统士子心态的反思与重塑。The Scholars is the works written by Wu Jingzi, an intellectual, who strived for and suffered from imperial examinations in his lifetime. The novel describes Wu＇ s deep reflection on feudal imperial examination system and shows his sympathy for traditional scholars and even relentless criticism. Taking The Scholars as a sample, this paper views the life and fates of traditional intellectuals in the whole feudal times. Through various images, the paper deep- ly analyzes the deep-rooted bad habits of traditional scholars, and summarizes their life experiences. Meanwhile, it explores the causes of these life tragedies, thus reflecting and re-shaping the mental state of traditional scholars in ancient China.
