摘　　要：生活垃圾如果处置不好,会造成水污染、土地污染、大气污染等问题,更是对城市的可持续发展以及资源的分配造成直接的影响。固体废弃物增长速度极为迅速,尤其是发展中国家,截止2013年,我国城市已有超70亿t的生活垃圾堆存,有80多万亩土地被占用,并以年平均近5%的速度增长,"垃圾围城"问题已经威胁到人类的生存,苏州市也被这一问题困扰着。如何因地制宜,结合苏州已有市情,推进生活垃圾分类,以垃圾无害化处理、减量资源化利用为目标,建立一套行之有效的生活垃圾分类体系,已是当务之急和必然趋势。With rapid development of the world economy of the world and the improvement of the quality of life of the urban residents as well as the urbanization,the amount of the municipal waste increases rapidly in recent years.If these wastes are not properly treated,it might result in the contamination of water,land and atmosphere and it further has direct impact on the nation＇s sustainable development as well as the proper distribution of the natural resources.In the developing county,the rapid increase of solid waste is especially a significant concern.By the end of 2013,the there are seven billion tons of municipal waste in China＇s urban area and they occupy more than 800,000 mu lands.It increases with a rate of 5%each year and the waste encompassing the city becomes a major problem.This paper discusses the municipal waste classification and treatment practice in Suzhou City.
