摘　　要：本文以地名"长坂坡"为出发点,利用历史文献对"当阳之长坂"中的地名"长坂"演变为"长坂坡"的过程和缘由进行了探究。在探究过程中,首先对坡义地名词"坂"与"阪"进行考释,进而从不同语言角度对坡义地名词"坂"进行了逐一分析。坡义地名词"坂"在汉语方言、域外语言中均有分布,并与少数民族语言中的相关词语互为联系。Based on the phrase Chang Ban Po, this essay has made a thorough inquiry into the process and reasons that the toponym Chang Ban in the phrase Chang Ban of Dang Yang had been changed into Chang Ban Po through research and consultation of an extensive historical literature. This essay starts with a semantic study of two slope toponyms ＂坂＂（Ban, hillside） and ＂阪＂ （Ban, Hillside Farmland）, and then from different semantic angles analyzes the term ＂坂＂ （Ban, hillside）. The term ＂坂＂ （Ban, hillside） could be found in not only Chinese dialects, but also foreign languages. It is also related to relative terms in China＇s minorities＇ languages.
