Objective To investigate the clinical effect of short segment pedicle screw fixation on patients with thoracolumbar spine fracture and dislocation. Methods One hundred and twenty cases of patients with thoraeolumbar spine fracture and dislocation in our hospital from January 2013 to January 2016 were selected as the study objects, all patients were treated with short segment pedicle screw fixation. The preoperative and postoperative 2 weeks and 6 months after the operation, the ratio of Cobb angle and the front compression ratio of the injured vertebral body were compared. Results After the operation for 2 weeks and 6 months, the Cobb angles were significantly lower than those before the operation, and the height ratio of the front height of the vertebral body was significantly increased, and the differences were statistically significant (P〈0.05). There were no significant difference in Cobb angle and the height of the anterior height of the vertebral body between 6 months and 2 weeks after surgery (P〉0.05). Conclusion Short segment pedicle screw fixation on patients with thoracolumbar spine fracture and dislocation is significant, it can effectively maintain the vertebral height, can be widely applied and promoted in clinic.
