In order to study the driving risk of the upstream transition section of the construction area and to ensure the traffic safety of the construction area, the Vissim simulation software was used to simulate the operation status of the traffic flow in the construction area, and the influence of the transition section length, traffic volume and driving speed on the driving risk was analyzed. Using the conflict rate as the evaluation index, the road traffic risk was divided into five grades, and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation theory was applied to conduct a comprehensive evaluation. The results show that the length of the transition section and the traffic volume are the most important factors influencing the traffic risk of the transitional section in the upstream of the construction area. The influence degree is over 90%. Therefore, it is important to control the length of the transition area and the traffic volume to reduce the traffic risk.
