A Discussion of the Idiom "Hou Ji Bo Fa"

摘　　要：近年来,一些辞书在给成语"厚积薄发"释义时,认为"薄"指"少量、慢慢地",从而认为该成语意思为"多多积蓄,慢慢放出"。本文从汉语词汇史的角度,结合文献语料及古代辞书释义对成语"厚积薄发"中的"薄"的语素义的发展作了一个动态考察,认为该成语中的"薄"应念去声"bò",而非阳平"bó";该成语解释为"一下子、很快地"更为恰当。In recent years, when a number of dictionaries explain the idiom ＂Hou Ji Bo Fa＂, they thought that the word ＂Bo＂ refers to ＂small, slowly＂, so that the idiom means ＂accumulate more and release slowly＂. From the perspective of the history of Chi- nese vocabulary, and combined with literature materials and an- cient lexicographical definitions, this article makes a dynamic in- vestigation on the development of the morpheme meaning of ＂Bo＂ in the idiom ＂Hou Ji Bo Fa＂, holding that it should be read as ＂b b ＂ rather than ＂b 6 ＂, and the meaning ＂all of a sudden, quickly＂ is more appropriate for the idiom.
