Objective: To compare the effect of negative polypropylene(PP) electrets with different surface potentials with that of the 5-fluoorouraeil(5-FU) on skin wound healing of rats. Methods: The corona charged electret patches with different surface potentials, 5-FU patch and --2 000 V PP electret 5-FU patch were prepared. By means of surface potential measurement, optical microscope, the stability of the electrostatic field of electret patch and electrets drug patch, as well as the effect of the above three kinds of patches to wound healing were studied. Results: All the electret and electret drug patches had stable electrostatic field to act on the wound surface. The wound healing effect of eleetret patch was proportional to the surface potential of the electret. 5-FU inhibited the wound healing. However, the electret drug patch could reduce the inhibitory action of the 5-FU to would healing. Conclusion: Negative PP electret can promote the wound healing, while 5-FU delays the wound healing. The combination of electret and 5 FU could be a better way to regulate the wound healing and inhibit the growth of hyperplastic scar.
