论惠特曼诗歌中的“大路旅行”意象

摘　　要：旅行是贯穿惠特曼《草叶集》始终的意象,这种旅行意象即有外在的地理意义上的旅行,又有内在的、心理意义上的旅行。与讴歌这种旅行意象相适应,惠特曼主要采用罗列式的写作手法。惠特曼矢志不渝地讴歌"大路旅行",是因为"大路旅行"表征着美国人民的生活,是"美国梦"、"天定命运"以及美利坚民族成长之路的体现。Journey, which is a central image running through Walt Whitman＇ s Leaves of Grass, is not only open and geograph- ical but also private and psychological. In line with the eulogy of the journey, Whitman mainly uses the method of catalogue . Whitman persistently eulogizes journey because it embodies the life of the American people, the American Dream, Manifest Destiny and the growth of the American people.
