摘　　要：《诺丁山》在电影史上占有重要的位置。依据Brown和Levinson的面子维护观,分析影片中男女主人公常见的请求等言语行为,探究言语行动者的人际关系管理策略,可以发现:男主人公威廉在与人交往中绝大多数的请求行为属于强暗示或弱暗示的非常规间接策略,此时受话人的面子威胁最小;女主人公安娜的请求策略多为直接策略或者常规间接策略,表现得较为强势。二人话语的差别与性格有关,但是与语言相交织的权力因素时时提醒我们性别政治与阶级政治无处不在。The movie, Notting Hill, occupies an important position in the history of films. The paper analyzes requests, which is one of the commonly-seen speech acts, based on Brown ＆ Levinsonrs ＂face maintenance theo-ry＂ .The research carries on the analysis to the hero and heroine in the film, and tries to find out their respective interpersonal relationship management strategies. The research claims that the hero William mainly uses strong or weak hints in his requests, which belong to unconventional indirect strategy. On the contrary, the heroine＇s request applies more direct strategy or conventional indirect strategy, by which the speech act is more powerful. The differ-ent choices of request strategies are partly decided by the character, but originate from gender and class politics.
