摘　　要：福尔摩斯破案运用化学、医学、生物学等科学知识,他提出的逻辑推理、观察法、细节判断、实地调查等研究手法具有科学性。《福尔摩斯探案集》对科学理性成为当时社会主题有重要的推动作用,趣味侦探故事喻示着侦探小说中科学精神的兴起。Sherlock Holmes used such scientific knowledge as chemistry, medicine and biology to solve crimes. The research methods such as logical reasoning, observation, detailedjudgment, and field survey he proposed are scientific. The Complete Sherlock Holmes played an important role in promoting scientific rationality as the social theme at that time. Interesting detec-tive stories showed the rise of scientific spirits in detective novels.
