英文编审信函拒绝言语行为的礼貌策略研究

摘　　要：为探讨英文审稿信函中编辑在实施拒绝言语行为时,如何更好得运用礼貌策略,文章以布朗与莱文逊的礼貌理论为基础,举例并分析了英文编审信函中,积极和消极的礼貌策略在进行拒绝言语行为时的具体运用和实际效果。结果表明礼貌策略的运用可有效减弱拒绝信息的强硬语气,同时缓和对投稿人的面子威胁。文章可为编辑在拒绝类回信中运用礼貌策略时,提供一定的理论和实践参考,以保持编辑和投稿人的友好协作关系。This paper aims to explore how reviewers can apply politeness strategies more effectively for the speech act of refusal in English letters. And based on Brown and Levinson＇s politeness theory, it analyzes and illustrates the specific application and real effects of positive and negative politeness strategies in reviewers’ English refusal letters. The result reveals that the usage of politeness strategies can greatly reduce the tough tone of refusal information, as well as mitigate the risk of face threatening to the contributor. This paper can offer certain theoretical and practical references for reviewers when replying refusal messages with politeness strategies which help to maintain a friendly, cooperative relationship with the contributor.
